🚀 New Tutorial: Import Tool Series, Part 3 — Convert from Manual to Synced & Update Matches in Synced Mode

Overview

Part 3 of the Import Tool tutorial series is now available! It covers converting an existing Competition from Manual to Synced mode, and importing match updates in Synced mode — where the tool anchors on unique match keys and shows you exactly what's changed since your last import.

🔄 Convert to Synced Mode (Full-Access Administrators & Assignors with the Import permission)

What's New:

  • Convert an existing Competition from Manual to Synced mode in a couple of clicks

  • Best for Competitions where match keys are unique and not duplicated within the Competition

🔁 Import Updates in Synced Mode

What's New:

  • Staging sorts your import into New, Updated, and Unchanged records — approve each group in bulk with a single click

  • Or drill into any match to review it individually, where you can Accept, Dismiss, or Skip the proposed changes and see a three-way view comparing this import, what's current in Ref Insight, and your previous import

  • Local edits made in Ref Insight between imports are preserved

📌 Handle Postponed & Rescheduled Matches

What's New:

  • When a league scheduling platform reuses the same match key for a rescheduled match, but you need to pay officials for the postponed match, adding a simple suffix (like -P) to the Ref Insight match key keeps the postponed match intact for paying those original officials while the new match is created separately and assigned with new officials
